Warm, Scottish, versatile voice with lots of character.
Drew been a voiceover artist for almost as long as he’s been acting, and he particularly enjoys the huge variety and scope that working behind a mic offers. Where else but in the world of voiceover would you have the opportunity to play an American pilot, Cockney tank commander, 19th Century schoolmaster, 14-year-old emigrant, talking tomato, angry elf, suave and sophisticated wooden spoon, robotic American President or 300-year-old gargoyle? Yes, he really has played all of those characters. Drew has also featured in a good many radio plays for the BBC.
If there was one word to describe Drew’s main talent it would be versatility.
Depending on the project, he can be lively, excitable, youthful and enthusiastic or if a more authoritative read is required, he can deliver a more reserved, mature and serious tone with gravitas. In previous work he was just as comfortable recording 22 different zany characters for a BBC Bitesize series of animations for pre-schoolers as he was recording a solemn, educational audio guide for a museum tour.
Drew is a very strong character actor and offers a wide range of accents, characterisations and energy.
